Shipping heat-sensitive products
Shipping heat-sensitive products
Unless recommended by the supplier, heat-sensitive products aren’t shipped with a cold pack as products are manufactured to withstand time in transit.
For the select products that we do ship with a cold-pack, it’s expected that the cold pack will only stay cold for the first day in transit, depending on the temperature that it’s exposed to. The pack usually stays cooler than outside conditions and continues to help keep your probiotic product cooler even after it melts.
Consider placing your order early in the week (Monday/Tuesday) to avoid your order being in transit over weekends when couriers may not make deliveries in your area.
Packing your heat-sensitive order
Our warehouse pays special attention to the packing rules for all products we ship in accordance with our supplement quality control standards. This may include shipping a product in an insulated bag or being sectioned off from the other products in the package to stay in close vicinity of any cold packs added to your shipment.
Storing heat-sensitive products at home
While the packaging for shipping is important for your heat-sensitive item, long-term storage is by far the most significant factor.
The following are general guidelines that we suggest you follow:
- Follow the storage instructions on the bottle – not all heat-sensitive products need refrigeration.
- Moisture leads to mold – leave cotton balls or silicon packets inside the bottle.
- Close the lids on all containers tightly.
- Avoid storage in the bathroom or near the stove in the kitchen.
